Though evolution of electronic technologies has greatly improved the National Health
System, the delivery systems of the handled materials inside facilities has not greatly
changed. Up to now, large Hospitals use precious human resources to carry out delivery
service of materials and, though this service cannot not be fully replaced by the automatic transport systems, nevertheless, in some cases it can be easily controlled.
The prevailing system for the large number of light transport is “the pneumatic post”, so called because it was historically used on board vessels as a transmission system to deliver telephone messages from the telegraph room to the navigating bridge, and it is still used today with new technology and manufacturing materials, modern computer-controlled systems, remote controls, etc.
